In the spirit of keeping you engaged with the ideas of adolescent literacy, technology, and curriculum reform, here are two videos that have been discussed on National Writing Project list serves over the past week that I think you might find of interest:

* Pay Attention (apx 8 minutes): http://www.teachertube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=40c570a322f1b0b65909
* Two Million Minutes Trailer (apx. 3 minutes): http://youtube.com/watch?v=WS_QENuOYL8
* Also the project homepage http://www.2mminutes.com/

What do you think of these videos? Their rhetorical approach? The message that they send? Implications for our work in Project WRITE?

Hi Troy--
wow! As I watched the video 2 Million Minutes I am struck by my ELL students n comparison to my non-ELL students. My ELL students are so fascinated by learning. They ask for more work, more homework and do not like downtime. When I give them "free time", they work on their English, their math or play chess or checkers. I often wonder what they they think of the English speaking students and their lack of motivation in my class.
